they did not keep our passport she said they would contact us and then we would submit our passport via VFS...

its been 3 weeks, irealy hope this gets done within 8 weeks....

hey guys now that i am back home in US i would like to take this time to review how the interview went , in chennai.. since i was there with my husband

it was on july 28th at 8am

we stayed at crystal residency in chennai

it was ok excpet for the fact when the lights went out at night and it was HOT!!

but anyways we got to the counsulate line at 745am

they make you stand outside

then when we got to the counter and my husband showed his appt letter and passport

i did the same, they gave me a hard time to let me in.. then finally let me in with him

as soon as we entered my husband got called to the window so we walked to the window

the indian officer looked thru our file

asked to see our album, she said she liked it

asked if it was love marriage

asked if i filed my tax returns

she made my husband sign part 2 of ds230

asked me how long i am visiting for then asked us to sit down

we sat back down at 810am

then at 12 we were called up by the american officer

the first question we were asked was "when did you get here"

i said july 24th, i took 2 weeks off from work.. she said oh you must be jet lagged

then went thru our file

she asked my husband how did we meet

we told her we have some phone cards emails and albums shes like no i dont need to see anything i trust u

she took my husbands finger prints

then she said ok i am confident u wilget ur visa but i need additional time to review your case of 4-6 weeks and gave us a b lue paper 221 g

she said oh im sure ur friends missed ur wedding, i saidya we have a reception planned, she said oh good! u can eat lots of cake... and smiled

she was nice and we thought we had it

but oh well gues more waiting for me....

oh she did look at some of our pics which we submited thru vfs... those were already in her file....

we got our originals back

so right now we r in AP

Did she keep his passport? what is this AP for? job or marriage? mine was for job background

My wife has also applied for PCC in Hyderabad and that is what they have told her. She would be picking the PCC either friday or monday. That would be about 10 days. Although we are still waiting for NOA2 but we just wanted to have everything ready before approval. Good luck with rest of your process.

Can you please clarify for me - did you guys have to take 1 or 2 PCCs? 1) Hyd Passport Office 2) District Police Station

It seems this process varies from place to place in India. My wife has been in Hyd since the time of Passport Issuance (3 yrs ago). Since her permanent residence and her passport office are both in Hyd, Hyd Passport Office said they are not going to give any separate PCC from what District Police Station will provide.

Is there some extra seal/stamp that Hyd Passport Office must put on the PCC?

only news we got was by calling DOS and said they received our file on aug 28, so they are prob starting the review now, i called chennai last night no one picks up, and they dont answer emails...

so basically its a waiting game, we are prayin it should be done by end of this month

I am in the process of getting the PCC from passport office and I have not seen the PCC from District police. When I do I will let you know. I have an added stuff that Samira was born and grew up in Saudi so we would need PCC for her Saudi record. We are trying to figure out where we get that. Good luck with yours.

Call you senator and ask them to find the status of you case from DOS. They will wire a letter to DOS for a congressional inquary.

I red on some post that the US embassy in Islamabad even went to the village of a benificary to verify the authanticity of the marriage and that guy is still on AP and his petition is still with US embassy.

Did they enquire about your marriage from your husband's family, friends or neighbours or from his work place.

When US consulate sends the petition back to DOS that means either they denied or asked the DOS to revoke the petition that's what I have read on some posts. If they had to verify things from here they would have asked DOS to verify from India. But they must inform you husband in writing too.

Did you husband receive any document from US consulate.

Please act fast and call you senator and congressmen.
