No, as long as he doesn't leave the airport - at least I hope so since my husband is supposed to be on that plane from Amsterdam to Miami as we speak :clock:

All your SO has to do is go to the mission of the country in which they will be in transit in (ex: Frankfurt-Germany, Paris-France, etc) Your SO will only need a transit visa if they are thinking to exit the airport ... during their overlay. If they are not going to leave the airport I donnot see why they would need the visa. Check the www:

You dont need it but you can still apply for the country that he will transit in, especially if he will have to change airports. You have to allow 4 weeks for the transit visa so start applying as soon as you have a visa approval and you will have to show hotel reservations ( paid) as well as other things... Mine left the airport and was in France for 3 days and it took 4 weeks to get but it was really worth it because it allowed him to rest between flights

Yes. It was required. Even if not leaving the airport and only having a two hour stopover

So is it different for every nationality? I'm going to pick up my husband from the airport now and he didn't have any problems with his 10+ layover on the way back to Egypt...

He was denied the transit visa though when he applied to spend some time with his brother, the other one too... they were asking for more paperwork from his residency in France which he didn't keep bc he doesn't intend on going back again. He only has his passport which was issued in France, his visa, and the police record needed for the K-1 - everything else got lost and they refused to issue the visa without more evidence

Every nationality is different. Every situation is different. It depends on where they are from .. Absolutely every Iranian needs one to even go through certain airports. My husband needed it to leave the airport even for an hour. Each situation is completely different. It was well worth applying for it

Most Arabics do not need a visa obtained in advance for Jordan.

My husband had one and he left the airport for 3 days. If he has to step one foot outside the airport or change airports, he has to have a transit visa. You need to figure out where he is transiting through and he needs to go to that embassy immediately and ask what to do to obtain it. Every country has different requirements and for some people, even stopping in the country requires a transit visa. Most Algerians can stay in the same airport and switch planes but they cant exit the air port. Transit visas are usually for less than 7 days and they have to show hotel reservations ( paid) for each day they are requesting and sometimes bank statements. It took us 3 weeks to get a transit visa. He needs to get on it now
