My fiance has a fiance visa interview scheduled in Lagos in October. He has been for two previous iterviews and each time the screening person has found a minor issue and turned him away. I am wondering if it would be beneficial for me to be in Nigeria with him for his next interview. I know I am not able to be with him during the actual interview, but am wondering if it may help him to actually be able to get in to be interviewed. Has anyone had this same issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What were the minor issues that had him turned away and what visa was he interviewing for? If it was because he was missing a document or something like that you being there will not help.

The first time he was 5 minutes late (traffic jam, typical in Lagos and I have heard from other VJ members that they were rescheduled the next day and he had to wait 2 months). The second time he did not have the visa fee in cash so he got it and brought it back, the screener said come back in 2 hours, he did and when he arrived the screener told him to come back in another hour. When he arrived back an hour later they gave him a slip saying his interview was being rescheduled, the date they gave was three months later (the date he now has in October).

Sounds like you should go and take him by the hand to the interview. He definitly hasn't made any friends there.
