So far, we've "slid through..."

The original petition was, more or less, assured. Our AOS was "rubber stamped" through CSC (no interview.) So, I'm wondering, how much evidence will we really have to provide in the next step? We don't have a co-bank account, which seems to be emphasized during this part of the process. However, both of our names are on the lease, and I have car/health insurance on his policy. We don't have a kid. (But we have a dog!) I could easily put his name on the utilities, but I've been pretty lazy lately...our last two petitions seem almost too much in hindsight. I even put together a bunch of evidence for our interview -- which we never had.

Guess I'm curious as to what ya'all would do?

Joint tax returns

joint bills

Did you buy anything together

If I were you, I would put some serious thought into this. We said through AOS without an interview too. But, that didn't stop me from preparing for LOC long in advance and from sending about 5 lbs. of LOC proof in lasat week.

Is 5 lbs average or a bit excesive? Ours isn't that much. I don't think it matters too much to them if you have a kid or not. Not having a kid doesn't mean that you don't love each other, and if that is how they see, we are in trouble. We have two cats, that we say are like our kids.

That will all depend on the couple, what type of proof you're providing, etc.

Our package was nowhere near that large. I feel like we sent a sufficient amount of evidence, and our package was around 60 pages total.

Your evidence seems very weak. I would gather lots of evidence - Jomo's Girl had a very comprehensive list one time and it seemed to be quite representative of what USCIS wants to see.

Remember, the RC process is where CIS wants you to prove and justify your lives together, should you fail to do so doesn't bode well for you and you'll receive an RFE.

If I was you, I wouldn't expect to get a free pass on the Removing Conditions phase. I actually would expect an interview based on an interview-free AOS and very limited evidence for the I-751.

we used our dog's akc papers and we were both on the vet bills and stuff. Did you file taxes together? That's a big one.

Any bills in both your names and mail addressed to both of you. If your driver's licenses show the same address, that's good, too. Insurance policy is a good one, and so is the lease. Anything with both your names on it really. We didn't have any bills together, but some were in my name some in his to the same address so we submitted that.

Thanks guys. :> I'm starting to collect documents -- definitely blown it off for faaar too long. I think I just needed a reminder that it's probably not going to be as "easy" as it was in the past. It was a little frustrating to spend hours and hours putting together the "perfect" packages for the k1/aos petitions and then not really get any feedback. Not that it's their job to say "hey, great scrapbooking skills!" or anything, I suppose.

Thanks again!

The key at this stage of the game is your financial co-mingling of your assets/liabilities. They are big on that stuff. You have tons of time to get wills / advanced healthcare directives / powers of attorney / life insurance (or any combination of the above) taken care of. Plus all the other ideas in this thread. Throw in some pictures and other samples of your relationship together. And don't worry so much about having to go through an interview now since you didn't during AOS, in my time monitoring this particular forum I can count on my one hand the reported interviews I have seen. Don't assume that you won't have one, but don't stress yourself out about it.

Oh, and make sure that your evidence spans the length of your marriage, not just the time since AOS was approved.
