hi everyone!

"newbie" here- sorry for this probably foolish question. i got my I-797C today. i was surprised to find an envelope from the USCIS Vermont Service Center in my mailbox (1. that was fast! 2. i thought i'd be CA). however, the NOA itself has the California Service Center address listed at the bottom. so, i'm assuming we are at CA and the NOA was stuffed in the wrong envelope...or? i'm in chicago, if that matters.

IL should come under CSC. Does your receipt numbers start with WAC or EAC? WAC is for CSC.

its probably the wrong envelope...the NOA itself shud state the address of the service center where your file is pending...i wud concentrate on that address and not worry about the one on the envelope...also sign in online to view your status....it will tell you where your case is pending...just as a side note, if your receipt number starts with EAC then you are at Vermont..if it starts with WAC, then your case is at the California Service center..hope that helps..good luck with your journey!

thank you both for the clarification! my receipt does begin with WAC, so we're at california after all. i was also finally able to check my case status online (the first day it said my receipt number was invalid), which confirmed that it is CA. here we go!
