Since then my husband has had his biometrics appointment on September 12th and no updates. According to our NOA1 it stated that we should received an interview date within 450 days. Will it really take that long? Another question since we filed my husband's N-400 before Oct 1st will he be able to take the old test?

That's their safety net just incase something happens. They told me 225 days till I got my interview. I don't think any of our cases are updated online past the first NOA. I called the USCIS and they told me that it was up to the center who's processing your file to update your case. They probably don't have the man power to update the sites for each case.

He should be able to take the old test as per the USCIS.gov

Just to revisit my situation with the fingerprints not being updated. I can't get thru to the uscis to ask if my fingerprints went thru as my status online remains untouched. Will my case still be processed or will it just pend until I get thru on the phone?

Gemma there is a very high probability that your case will not be updated online. Now in regards to your fingerprints you could call the FBI line and check. Check the July thread for the number. They really wont give you much information rather than it was complete and sent back to the USCIS. The USCIS are really no help because they look at the information you get from the website. It's the waiting game now or you could try calling and maybe you will get somebody who knows more than just finding the normal data. Sorry for the gloomy news. I filed beginning of End of July and have been playing the waiting game since then. Good Luck with your process

Im good at playing the waiting game, have been doin it since 2004 watching people after me get thru before me, I was just concerned that my case would be in a pending state waiting for interactiion because the fingerprints were waiting someplace or other. I know that it will be over a year before I get called for but just don't want to extend that time period thru some fault of the fingerprints sitting somewhere. Its seems the uscis help line has got even more fined tuned to not getting thru to a operator than it ever was.

I usually use the option that says change your address, and when they ask me the reason I'm calling I tell them that there is no option to speak with a customer service rep. It sucks, but I think that's one of the few options that will take you to a live person. They will usually send you a notice stating that the FBI had problems with your fingerprints and you need to go back and get it done again.

I'm currently getting backgrounded by Minneapolis for a job and was told it can take up to 2 months for everything to come back. I have no clue why it would take 2 months, but that's normal apparently. I heard it takes even longer when you apply for a federal job. So with an assumption, I take it that's why background checks take a while, ofcourse depending where your from, how long you have been here and so forth. I know it's a pain in the a?$e.

Hi,

My husband received a yellow letter today telling him what documents he needs to bring to the interview, my question is for the ones who filed with TSC and have received their interview letter. How long after receiving the yellow letter did it take before you received the interview letter?

4/7/08 -------> Rec'd email from USCIS showing Card Ordered, Woot Woot

4/14/08 -----> 10 yr green card in hand

Citizenship Timeline

8/20/08 -------> Mailed N-400 to TSC

8/21/08 -------> N-400 rec'd by TSC @ 10:42 am signed for by C Maxa

8/26/08 -------> Check cashed

8/28/08 -------> Called USCIS was told biometrics scheduled for Sept 12 @ 3 pm

9/02/08 -------> Received NOA 1 showing receipt date as August 22, 2008

9/02/08 -------> Received bio appt by snail mail verifying scheduled date as 9/12 @ 3 pm

9/12/08 -------> Fingerprints taken

12/16/08------> Interview @ 10:05 am [PASSED]; OAth given at 2 pm

***MY HUSBAND IS NOW A USC***

12/29/08 -----> Filed for US passport book and passport card for my husband

01/08/09 -----> Rec'd US passport book in mail today; still waiting for card and return of natz cert

1/10/09 ------> Rec'd US passport card and Natz cert.
