So we were watching the games on TV last night and George W. Bush guest appeared in one of the commentary boxes for a brief "interview"...

I couldn't find the clip on youtube - but he was on during the women's gymnastics, and got a brief interview by the sports commentator (about human rights and blahdeblahdeblah) who let him get off with the same platitudes about "working together" and "having respect for people on the country and the region" and that seemingly constant dirty grin, as though he had let one go and noone wanted to say anything.

He did let off a few Bushisms though - including one about being invited to dinner ("it was actually a lunch") along with "Laura, my dad, sister and my brother" - basically he got invited to dinner along with his entire extended family, but felt the need to rattle off everyone's name anyway.

Just as bad as when Tony Blair did a surprise appearance on Richard & Judy (old trash daytime talk show in the UK), during the middle of one of a big political crisis and all they could must up to ask him was "what football team do you support".

I know I'm going to sound like a dummy but I like seeing him there to support our teams and he is also getting other political work done too. He has spoken about certain lacking freedoms while inside the country. It's not just fun. But some people want to hate Bush no matter what he does instead of disagreeing with his policies.
