Hello everyone!

I have a question about medical in Kiev.

My fiancée is 7-months pregnant and she is going on medical to Kiev. Is she going to be X-Rayed? Or there is special procedure for pregnant women?

I appreciate any response!!!

Thanks a lot!!!

Hi! Being a doctor i can say they PROBABLY will NOT x-ray your fiancee, as far as procedures, i had a friend in the same situation in late 2006, she reported no problem with the medical they simply noted on the paperwork she was pregnant. and she arrived in the U.S. January 2007 with no problems. will you be a the interview with your fiancee? This couple, both were present at the interview. If you really need specifics i can ask them...but wanted to let you know, with this particular couple there were no problems.

Thank you very much for your responce!!!!!

She called to clinic to Kiev and she was told by staff that she has to be X-rayed no matter what. They have a shield that is placed on her abdomen as protection during X-ray. So, we decided, not to jeopardize a baby and she would not go for medical at this time. We will wait until after the baby is born.

Yes, I am going to be with her on interview. I scheduled interview on October 16 and we decided she would go for medical one day before the interview.

Thanks again for your responce!!!!!!!!!

Good move. I don't know what clinic or Dr. would say that it's okay to xray a pregnant woman with some type of "shield". It should be her choice if that was the case. My Dentist wouldn't do x-rays when I was pregnant. I don't know why should couldn't have the medical without the x-ray anyway, however I don't know when baby is arriving.

Yes, that is very weird that they X-ray pregnant women. I do not think that shield can give 100% protection. Maybe I am wrong about it, but we both still decided to better off spend a little time waiting when the baby is born vs jeopardize the baby health in rushing.
