yes, because VJ is full of Russia/Georgia experts. I get all of my informed commentary from VJ.

I would wager that 90% of the people posting in this thread had never heard of the problems in Georgia/South Ossetia before the bombing began.

BBC has been covering the situation for years. I have been following it for some time, as have many of us. It is SO much easier to insult each other than to actually discuss the issues. Maybe we should agree to disagree.

Actual a definition of pizdun should be more closer to you. A person who talks alot ####, with out anything to back him up with.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Actually I'd be in that remaining 10% and I have no ties to the region. Go figure. Its called paying attention.

FYI... looks like Mother Russia IS violating the cease-fire. Oops.

How does that make sense? How would there be consistency there?

Consistency?! Where's consistency in the American policies? Kosovo - OK, Osetia - not. #######?

Got it ;)

On the same coin, where's Russia's consistency with S. Ossetia since it backed Serbia's claim to Kosovo?

If you can answer that, then I'll totally engage the American policy of picking and choosing whom to support (while having skeletons in our own closet, mind you).

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I already said that: the US has established a precedent, now everyone is free to use it, things have changed since then.

Nations are not obligated to follow "precedent" when established by other nations. Otherwise you'd see a lot more Nagasaki and Hiroshimas.

Governments are not grade schools (even though they do behave as such many a times over).

I can definitely see, though, where your line of thinking is coming from- if one can do it, why can't we? F***k civilization and diplomacy.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That seems to be the current US policy line.

True. So does it need to be the current Russian policy line too? Hey if one nation wants to be idiotic, lets all be idiotic then! :star:

Piece of cake. In the case of Serbia, Russia backed "Slavic brothers" against the Kosovo Muslims supported by the US. In the case of S. Ossettia, Russia backed Russian citizens and peacekeeping troops against the Georgian backed by the U.S. :D No consistency, you say?

No matter how many facts you give them, Russia will still be evil, Putin will still be more evil than Hitler and Hussein combined. And CNN will still be considered as reliable news source...
