50% is actually pretty low! I haven't met any Americans who would be 100%-free from any degree of "xenophobia and other racist expressions", though sometimes masked by outward political correctness. It's a natural human tendency: group self-identification and differentiation based on race, nationality, culture etc. Extreme versions of it are called racism or nationalism; but who can tell how many of those 50% "affected" hold truly extremist views?

In any case that still doesn't justify your statement. You can't make bald assumptions about the views of individuals from their nationality alone - that's outrageous. Because we do not know how it was performed. I am certain that the same survey performed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, performed similarly, would return results which would vary widely.

Because its an arbitrary number and we have no way of verifying the results.

We don't know the sample size, how that sample was selected, how many of the selected sample actually responded to the survey.

To put it in even simpler terms - its unlikely in the extreme that a plurality of the Russian population participated in that survey.
