Well you can't relativise these things... but I would hazard a guess that the death toll in Afghanistan was higher.

There's an estimated total death toll of at least 1 million in Afghanistan (with about 5-6 times that being displaced) but nothing concrete - and given that the Afghans lacked a regular army its not exactly clear how that breaks down in terms of civilian vs. military casualties.

But I think we can agree that both of those situations are heinous and the Russia has a lot of blood on its hands.

i am no fan of the russian current government or past soviet..but have allot fo respect for the russian people ..to make an attack on the russian people is wrong and is kin to attacking the american people over bush's war in iraq
