Thanks...

It was a long wait, though shorter than other people.

I feel like I kicked and screamed a lot about it. But then again, if I hadn't maybe my case would still be buried in a drawer at the MSC.

Just a piece of advice for anyone whose case is not moving. Try and be humble, explain your hardship and your extreme need of getting your documentation. And make sure you are using all your tools at hand, do not hesitate to make several infopasses, calls or visits. Know your rights, make sure your waiting period time has been exceeded. Be firm, but not let your temper get the best of you.

I still dont know what made my case move, if that email to the Pittsburgh Office or the call to the USCIS information line. But I tried and use all my resources. It did pay off (got my paperwork approved a week or so after)...

My two cents of the day...:).... Thanks again

Congratulations!

I have a quick question, it seems you were assigned a temporary EAD before they approved your EAD? How long did they grant the temporary EAD for?

Thanks!

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

My interim EAD was supposed to be good for 8 months, but they counted since my I-94 expired. So it was actually good for only 5 months at the moment it was granted. I think it varies from office to office, as far as which is the good date to issue your EAD.

BTW... my EAD card arrived in the mail yesterday!!!!! it's SO pretty... I am SO happy... and it's good until May 2007, so now I can relax and concentrate just on working my butt off!!!...:D
