Hi everyone.....

I have been reading the old threads and it seems that people are saying you are required to include affidavits proving bona fide marriage........is that COMPLETELY necessary? We don't have much as of now to prove bona fide marriage. We have...

Letters addressed to both of us at our address from the time of the wedding till present.

Photos before, during, and after the wedding, and the birth of our baby!

Our Apartment contract in both of our names.

A joint bank account in the States.

Unfortunately, I don't have any of the papers here for the account in the states, our apartment contract is only in hebrew right now and we have to wait to get the baby's birth cert (does not have my husbands name on it right now, it is being corrected AS.A.P...whenever that may be......FOR SURE before the interview!)

So, my question is.......will letters from family and friends addressed to both of us and photos be sufficent until we can add the other papers (translated apartment contract, and bank account papers from the states) later during the process???

I know we could wait, but we are dying to get home to be with my family........so we were hoping to do this ASAP! :)

I don't know if this helps but our I-130 was approved without any request to see evidence of a bonafide relationship....

I am going through London DCF and got a RFE wanting 2 sworn statements from my husband and 3 further from friends/family to "prove" our bona fide relationship...and we have been married 2 years already.

You might not be asked but always be prepared for it

Wow, I guess every Consulate/Embassy is so different! I actually emailed the Consulate in Jerusalem and they said..."you do not need to bring any other evidence but your marriage certificate. If we decided you need something else, we will tell you to bring it later."

That works for us becuase we'll have the baby's birth certificate by then!! :) yipee!

I think you are right, every consulate varies, and there is probably also a difference depending how long you have been married. In Ireland, they say to send nothing with the I-130 but to bring evidence to the interview. But in our case (married 3+ years), they didn't ask to see any of the bonafide evidence I brought.

And I can now add that they don't ask to see it at the interview either (we have been married 1.5yrs)

Well, we filed yesterday and all they wanted was the marriage certificate because it had both of our names on it. :) But we will of course bring some docs along to the interview whether or not they ask for it! :)
