Just wondering for the Moroccan SO's in the house... how long typically from NVC to interview in Casa does it take? Say if we got out of NVC end of September what is a possible month... Dec??? or furthor?

I know things are different but i have to time this just right and need to know how much to drag my feet but not to long... he can leave Spain in Jan... and I want him home ASAP after that insha'allah

Thanks for your help

Back when we did our CR1, and this was several years ago, it was normally in the NVC around 3 or 4 months. Then it took about another month before the actual interview. Hope that helps.

We received our NOA2 on June 9, it left the NVC on July 1, and our interview was on July 31. Packet 3 was delivered to the wrong address, so we only got it 10 days before the interview. I would suggest emailing the consulate at ivcasablanca@state.gov, a few days after it leaves the NVC and asking for the interview date, which they provided for us before we received the packet.

Am I correct in thinking you are doing the CR1? If so, yes that is the place to stall because they can not forward it to the consulate until all of the paperwork has been gathered. If by chance you are doing the K-3 it will be much tougher. They hold onto the file for about a week or 2 and forward it to the consulate. They will schedule the appointment.

They will send you a notice for the CR1 interview from the NVC. We got ours February 24, 08, and our IR1 interview was on April 26, 08. That's about 2 months from the time we were notified that the file had been sent to Casa. I've seen K interviews take months to be scheduled after leaving the NVC. If you can get the CR1, go with that.

Going CR1 all the way.... just want to time it right to have his interview in Feb if a all possible.

Just an FYI contact USCIS to make sure they forwarded your CR1. When we were waiting AP I tried to get the ball rolling on the CR1 but it took the time during AP for them to locate our CR1.

I was told just to ignore the K3 and do all for the CR1???? is that not right?

The K3 goes faster. Your goal is for February. The CR1 is the way to go for sure. Easier to delay by delaying turning in the forms by a couple of weeks. And much easier and less expensive when he gets here.

But I think it would be wise that you contacted the USCIS and inform them that you and your husband have decided to cancel the I-129f in favor of the I-130. And you can ask them the best way to proceed. You want to make sure that if you ignore any appointments set up for the K-3 that it isn't causing any problems for the CR1. Where is your I-129f now? If it is already at the consulate you may need to contact them and let them know.
