Would it affect my K1 VISA with a denied tourist VISA

My fiancee scheduled for an interview this Friday Aug 15, 2008 in Manila USE. Would it affect her K1 VISA because of her denied touring VISA? Would they ask alot of questions about her denied touris VISA last year? Waht she should say to the CO? Right now she is very worried the CO may ask a lot questions and possible dennying her K1 VISA. Because it was my uncle sponsoring her, my uncle he is married to her Aunt(long distance Aunt/Relatives...not by blood).

Any advice and inputs are welcome and appreciated.

dont worry its not gonna affect ,,,i had denied tourist visa too lastyear......the consul didnt ask me a question about that...goodluck to your fiancee ,,godbless

I have known of people who have had their tourist visas denied up to 4-5 times and they still got their K1 visas approved. It's pretty normal, so she should be ok.

Probably not an issue, but it does depend very much on why the tourist visa was denied.

If the tourist visa was denied just for failure to prove non-immigrant intent, which seems to be the most common reason for tourist visa denials, it's not a problem at all. You don't have to prove non-immigrant intent for a K-1 visa, and lots and lots of people have reported succesful K visas after tourist visas were denied for failure to prove non-immigrant intent.

If the tourist visa was denied for misrepresentation or another type of inadmissibility, then the root cause of the tourist visa denial could also be a reason for denying the K-1.

Dont worry about that. i was in the same situation; tourist visa denied, and then 10 months later had my k1 interview. the consul only ask me if i was going to visit my fiancee when ive tried to get the visitor visa. good luck!
