Denied f-1 visa?

Hi,

I'm fairly new here and we haven't quite started the paperwork for the F-1 visa as I am still living in my fiance's home country (Ecuador).

However, I have a question about denied visas. He was recently denied an F-1 visa (unrelated to us - he was going to study somewhere else and it was legitimate) and I'm wondering if when I file the paperwork for K-1 in a few months if it will affect his application?

My wife is from china and in china denied visa's are normal .The two are unrelated. One question that may come up would be "have you ever been denied entry to the united states. " Denied entry and denied visa are also two different questions. Something to watch for. My wife was denied twice for a visitors visa. There was no affect on her k-1 application.She sailed right through her interview.

It shouldn't affect the K1 at all, unless the previous visa was denied for something like fraud or missrepresentation.

Thanks so much for the replies, that's a huge relief. He was denied based on financial issues, nothing serious.
