As the USC spouse, did do a very well composed letter for the I-751, but skipped that for the N-400. With my wife's IO not wanting to go through that 3" stack of all the evidence we sent in so far plus they apparently mixed in the N-400 evidence in with it, maybe I should have done a cover letter as well with the N-400.

A common business type letter, date, address, Dear Sirs: with an Re: for the applicants full name and A#. A brief explanation to explain how the check total was arrived at, a list of the enclosed evidence. And a short explanation if any of the evidence you feel requires that.

Didn't read anything about enclosing a cover letter, so skipped that. Have any of you attached a cover letter?

Have the feeling, my wife's IO was new on the job as the USCIS is hiring many new people, maybe they need some help from us.

I did attach a cover letter.

i made cover letter, attached post-it flags at the bottom of each section starting point, organized everything really well and kept the papers to a minimum, but including everything - for example 1 bank statement for each year for each joint account, including the last month before applying - i thought it's useless to send more than that for N-400, since that is only to prove 'continuance of being married'.

I always thought of making the uscis' job the easiest possible, and made my packages accordingly...seems like they liked them so far, judging by my non-existing uscis hassle level.

WHATEVER DUDE

LOL, I am way too good with horses and cattle to be called a dude, think of another name. Wisconsin has horses too and cattle.

Yeah, proving that you are married, you wanna bet I could open a joint bank account with Marilyn Monroe as my wife? Or add her to my utility bills? Can also type up W2 statements, actually have been doing that for years unless they check with the IRS. Now a state certified marriage certificate, that is a bit difficult. Or forging a green card my wife went through after months and months of background checking. Feel the USCIS should re-evaluate what kind of evidence is valid.
