Well, from stories on here it seems Ireland is faster right now, and the embassy staff maybe a bit friendlier. That being said, not many of us Irish DCFers to compare to, whereas there are quite a lot of UK VJ DCFers.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Thanks, Penguin! Ireland may be a very real possibility for us, then -- my partner has dual citizenship like you, only Irish/UK, so I think living in Ireland for six months or so would be pretty easy for us...

Thanks again for always being so helpful!

Are you saying that since my husband has dual citizenship in the UK and Eire that we can file in either? I'm asking because we live in Northern Ireland, do we have to live in the South to file in Eire?

Ohhhh... good question! I would think you need to apply to London, as NI is in the UK and I do not think the US government acknowledges the various cross-border agreements between the Irish and UK governments. But it might be worth ringing the US embassy in Dublin and asking.
