Hi everyone,

Just a quick question for you all..........Before Megan arrived here last week we got her 1-134 and letter of intent notarised. Along with the I-134 for her step father who is co-sponsoring us. She didn't have the transcripts from the IRS to bring with her so her mother sent them out to us and should arrive in the next couple of days. My question is though is that upon receiving Packet 3 it says that the last year's transcripts should be notarised. Is this correct or are the ones direct from the IRS ok??? We are just a little concerned and can re-order them online is needs be. Thanks!!!!!

Good Morning;

ONLY the I-134 (the Affidavit of Support) should be NOTARIZED (not the tax transcript)...okay.

Hi guys.

As above, just notarise the I-134. We somehow managed to forget the IRS forms for the interview, but it was no problem - my baby sent them out from California express delivery, I was able to phone up the courier company a few days to arrange pick up of my passport and the missing papers. It cost me an extra ten quid on the postage (and a slight delay in the arrival of the Visa) but it came this week. Don't worry too much, it's a breeze. The worst thing is being sat there waiting for your number to come up on the board. It took me about two and a half hours in total (half an hour waiting outside and about two hours inside). The people in the cubicles are totally laid back. The only thing you have to stress about is making sure you find a bag big enough to take your large X-rays (which you will receive at the Embassy) and the chunky sealed envelope of Visa papers in your hand luggage at the airport. Job well done, guys. You're almost there.

Good luck for the future.

Graham--Just went through London interview with my UK fiance 10 days ago. I used a copy of my 2007 Turbo Tax return and copies of W2s and those weren't even a problem. That would be so easy to fake up, but they accepted it. They did not ask for the other two years for which I did have transcripts. The transcripts are somewhat "verified" by the IRS as true and complete. The IRS said my 2007 transcript would not be available until November, which makes me think they are still checking my return out or going to audit me. Therefore they couldn't "verify" my return with a transcript yet.

So, you are in super shape by having transcripts.
