Ugh! I can almost see the heat!

I do love Cairo, though.

I know, right?? Argh....miss my man, but REALLY not missing the heat of Egypt!

Hey Amy if you can't stand the heat of the summer to bring your daughter to the pyraminds, you can always go at night (though still hot - at least the sun won't beam on you). They have a great light show, she may really like it. Just make sure to go on a English speaking night, hee hee! The first time I went was on a Italian speaking night....didn't know WHAT they were talking about, but it was still entertaining.

Good point.

Amy, take a copy of your marriage papers with you. That will entitle you to a discount on the admission. You won't have to pay the 70 LE "tourist" price, but the 7 LE "Egyptian" price. The same should apply to your daughter. Argue about it if you have to because there's no reason, as you are married to an Egyptian, you should be treated as a "tourist." I know that it's not a lot of money if you think about it in US dollars, but it's a lot of money in Egyptian pounds. Besides, it's the principle of the thing.

John and I went there in March. We had a nice time and got some wonderful photos. The weather was ok really sunny but not too hot. He said he imagined them to be cleaner than that and I agreed. They should get more attention and the area should be clean and organized. I love all the pics we took there and the time we had walking and on the carriage though :)

Yeah, we did this when I was there the first time (didn't do any touristy stuff the second time)... we weren't sure if it would work for my daughter too, though, or not. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to buy her a visa in the airport, but that's not that big of a deal, I guess. And yeah... tourist prices are waaaay worse than Egyptian prices. We've also learned for me to just keep my mouth shut on cab rides to avoid them charging ridiculously high fares.
