Traveling to US with B1/B2 after NVC case was approved, before interview

We got our CR-1 case approved yesterday 8-8-08. My wife is currently in Egypt since July 5th and want's to come back to visit me in Texas on her B1/B2 visa. They told me at NVC that since Cairo is a very busy embassy, she may not get the interview in September but until October. So we'll find out about the interview date only until after Aug. 15th.

For that reason she want's to spend a few weeks with me in the USA while waiting for the interview. The lady at the NVC thinks they may not let here come back into the US because the case is now complete and they may give her problems at the port of entry.

Does anybody have any advice on this issue or a similar experience you want to share?

We both miss each other and want to be together, so waiting 2 more months and being apart it is very difficult for both of us.

In order to be allowed entry, she would have to have proof of not wanting to remain in the USA and need to return. Unfortunatly, she has this immigrant visa going on, which means her "proof of not wanting to remain in the USA" is kind of shattered. I think it works sometimes, but othertimes, no. For this reason most of us in MENA have to wait out the 1-2+ years of visa processing in our countries and go visit them over there. She could always try! Good luck!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
