McCain is seriously considering picking Lieberman for Veep

Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic vice-presidential nominee who has endorsed John McCain, is being vetted as a potential running mate for the Republican presidential hopeful, according to an adviser to Mr McCain’s ­campaign.

Mr Lieberman’s support for the presumptive Republican nominee has, much to the chagrin of his former colleagues, helped to boost Mr McCain’s reputation as a bi-partisan legislator with friends on both sides of the aisle. Mr Lieberman, a staunch supporter of Israel, could also help Mr McCain win over Jewish voters.

But not everyone would be enthusiastic about Mr Lieberman being added to the ticket. While Mr Lieberman has staunchly defended Mr McCain’s support of the surge, the escalation of US troops in Iraq, and the lawmakers have teamed up on legislative proposals to ­combat global warming, the registered independent is aligned with Democrats on most other issues.

"Conservatives would be pissed as hell – I think you would have a revolt, but sometimes John does what John wants to do," the McCain adviser said.

Well, Lieberman is practically a closet Republican anyways. Only caucuses with the Democrats because if he went Republican he'd lose his next bid for the Senate. He's pro war, and of course is outrageously moralistic and censoring toward video games.

Oh naa.. we'll not be having any of that.. there'll be a row in the camp if he starts on the video games. There isn't anything wrong with the odd blast at GTA or Doom or any of the other games out there. I don't want some old fella in a suit telling me what I should or shouldn't be playing or how moral or unmoral it is. That's what we have priests/ministers/pastors and other religious types for. I'd like to see him make his way through GTA without running over that cop with his own car or beatin the hooker after you've availed of her services in order to get your money back
