Real RFE or False RFE?

Hi everyone!

We have a small problem.

NVC's Automated Voice Response (AVR) said our DS-230 was received on August 6th. Then AVR changed to an RFE on August 8th...That there is information missing or incomplete on the forms. The I-864 was received on July 31st.

Now the Question:

Could the RFE be a real RFE or could this be the usual message that everyone gets after the I-864 is in the system and NVC is waiting for DS-230?

Has anyone been through a similar situation where their DS-230 was processed before I-864?

Sure... Not to me... but it happens... DS230 and I864 are processed by different Staff are NVC, so it can happen

just called them and ask whats going on, most of the time it is false rfe, and some times its not, as NVC take a week to process ds-230 and i-864.

This happened to me. If you paid on-line, using the CEAC system, they will be sending you an RFE asking for the IV fee. It is irritating, but easy to remedy. Just call them and explain that you paid on-line. This has happened to many people and they seem to know exactly what the problem is. Some other people (see the NVC forum) have guessed that this happens to people, like myself, who paid as soon as the invoice appears on the CEAC on-line system. I think the trick is to wait for the IV bill to be generated (this is reported on the Automated Voice system).

- Yes we had paid the bills online so that is one possible hold up

- I did not know both forms were processed by different staff but that's nice information

- chintain, we are anxiously waiting to find out what it is about and husband will call NVC on monday

- Yes Nishaf, through the guide you've written (which I should say again that it has been very helpful) we found out that this could actually be a false rfe, but you know how these AVRs freak people out. Its just one of those weekends where we can only wait to find out.

Have i read this right? A RFE can be just because they have'nt recieved the DS-230 yet?

Its not an actual RFE because they didn't receive teh DS230....like they don't mail you an RFE....that is why this type is a "False RFE" . The AVR system recorded message refers to the fact that "we have reviewed....and found some information missing...".

I am having the same problem, my ds230 was entered into system on 8th august and now after the week , avr is saying some documents are missing and they have mailed the letter on 15th , I hope its a false RFE.... I am hoping to get my case completed, please pray for me
