Hi,

as I just received my official interview letter from the consulate, I got 2 minor questions, and I think I know the answer but Better Safe Than Sorry!!

The checklist states that I need to bring the I-864 and supporting documents. I already sent that to NVC, so I don't need to bring it again, right?

It says to bring the $380, unless you have paid $335 at NVC, then you should bring remaining $45. I paid the whole deal at NVC, so I should be good, right?

Anyone who knows for sure, please help out the little confused me (guess I'm just so excited), that'd be great!

You are correct on both counts What you received is standard instructions. As you went through NVC and have already submitted I-864 and paid the visa fee, all is honky dory.

There is no need to bring another original of the I-864....just a copy of what was sent to NVC, as with everything else that has been submitted. They are also already aware that the visa application fee has been paid. The instructions are generic and not all of it is specific for those having processed through NVC for a CR-1.

This is just a standard letter. I know, my parents received same letters. I think, it also says, if the petitioner has already paid the fee, then you don't need to bring any fee. The Embassy already has your I-864 and IV fee. Good Luck. I am sure, you will enjoy the World Cup Football 2006 in Germany.

No need to bring anything, as everyone has already said. I actually called Frankfurt when I received the letter to find out what the deal was.

Btw, you'll get most of the documents for the I-864 back, so while you don't have to bring it, you'll take 2/3 of it with you once you're done.

My daughter is doing the CR-1 and has her interview the 15th of June. I just have a question about the I-864. She sent the I-864 (or I should say her husband) with the most recent tax year as being 2004. When she goes to the interview, shouldn't they have it updated to the 2005 tax year?? She is going through the Montreal Consulate. Thanks!

ps Should I also post this in the Regional (Canada) Forum?? Just wondering!!
