I attempted to change our green card interview due to personal matters AND being out of the country (we're both in my husband's home country now) but they were very unhelpful and told us it could take up to 45 days from the request to send it to our local office to ask for a new date, and our interview was to be within that 45 day period. So we're probably screwed. What if you get in an accident on the way to the interview? You get denied? Give me a break!!

I also tried to contact the consulate here to see if we could interview here or if there were a way they could help us in this matter due to our personal problem, but I'm still waiting to hear back. So at this point I'm assuming we will get denied by not showing up (and there is NO way we can make it in time)

Does anyone know what are our options at this point? If we do get denied, even though we had good reason to reschedule, can it be turned around? And if so, how? And what steps do we need to take? And when? CAN we interview abroad? Any help is greatly appreciated....I'm so frustrated at our situation. :(

You are now at their mercy. When you first asked about this five weeks ago, you were given the proper advice, "Change your plans and attend the interview as scheduled." You must have had an extremely critical reason for doing otherwise. The consequences will be whatever they will be.
