I-751 joint tax return as the evidence of relationship

Hi everybody,

My husban and I use our joint tax return transcript as the evidence of our relationship. Our tax return transcript has many pages. Is it ok if we send only first page of the transcript with our I-751 petition? The first page has all the ifo they need : our names and filing status and our address. Or you think it is better to send the whole thing? Thank you.

Would that be additional evidence of the relationship or of the taxes (w2's etc.)?

Additional evidence of the relationship. The complete tax transcript from the IRS doesn't require the W2s - personal copies of the return not from the IRS should have all supporting documentation (ie. W2s) included. They are interested in seeing how completely you have intermingled your financial, personal and family lives together as would normally be expected in a legitimate marriage. So, evidence that proves this sort of co-mingling of your lives is what you want to provide. Joint taxes is only one type of evidence, although a good one. Your evidence should also cover the whole period of your marriage so send in past joint tax transcripts as well as the current ones.
