Finally!!! Congratulations and hopefully this will get the wheels turning.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what the difference is between Adjustment of Status biometrics and Naturalization biometrics? My wife had her AOS biometrics done last December. Seems a little redundant to do it again; not that we have a choice of course. Why do fingerprints twice?

Yeah Feyser!!!! CONGRATS!!! It's about time. They are the same there's no difference. As per USCIS the fingerprints that you did to adjust status were good for 6 months. They also do not keep the fingerprints on file so that's why you have to take it again.

Now if we can get Ilona to contact her Senators office we can get the last person moving.

Hey, your comment made me smile!:) It's a good thing!:)

I did contact them, but not the Senator. About 11 days ago I faxed a letter explaning my situation to my local rep's office. No one even called me to tell me if they even took a look at my paperwork. I started thinking that the more people I envolve the harder it gets, cause nobody cares and nobody does their jobs, so it's just more work for me to try to push all this people and try to follow up with everybody. Anyway, I called the local rep's office yesterday to see what the heck is going on and the girl there told me that she'll follow up with the National Benefit Center an will try to call me back on the same day, but guess what...... she didnt!!!! So, I must call again on monday to make sure she remembers me!

By November 4th I should get and answer from USCIS about my Service Request as well! At this point I dont know if my application is still at NSC or at this National Benefit Center!

So you see why I am hesitant about contacting the Senator as well, I just dont think it will make any diffrence and it will be just one more place to follow up with! Arghhh....any way, if I have positive news I'll post it!

In the mean time I am very happy about Feyser's application finally moving along!:) Good luck everyone!

I still think you need to walk into their office and explain it to someone in person. Be persistent and courteous, and I'll bet you'll get better help. It's their job to represent you as a constituent and there is a whole USCIS department in Lincoln dedicated to working with Congressmen. Good luck!

Ilona,

Your local rep does not have any contact with the federal goverment. Your best bet is to contact your State senator as they have a specific area where they call the different agencies in federal goverment on different issues. They will send you a form that authorizes them to contact on your behalf. I did the same thing. Called my local guy, after a week, he told me he cannot do anything and forwarded my info to the Senator Colemans office. They called me and then sent me a form to fill out and fax back. I highly recommend getting in touch with your Senator. This is what they are supposed to do.

The way I look at it, either way nothing is happening so you might as well call every Jo, Bob and Bill to get it done.

I was bored and decided to give the ole USCIS a call and see what's happening :D I started asking hypothetical questions like " What happens if the mailman loses my interview letter, will that be considered abandoning my application?" " How do I know what my status on my file is if you guys don't update it?" " Who should I call to get a status on my file, since whenever I call you guys never know what's going on with my file and tell me the same darn thing I know" ... Mind you I did ask very nicely. :) . So the nice lady told me if I was that concerned about my application, I should make an appointment with the USCIS local office and see what's going on and make sure they have the correct address and blah, blah blah. I thank her for her valuable time.

On another note I heard back from the Senator's office

"Thank you for the e-mail. I received your PRF and you should be receiving a letter from us informing you of your casework. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

- Teresa "

Hopefully somethings in the mail in the next few days. I'll make an infopass appointment if I need to once I recieve the letter.

My wife thinks I'm crazy, she thinks I have way too much fun when I call them up. :D:P

Hope everybody else had a good weekend.

I like your style KyngSilva...you do everything I would do if I were in that (stressful/not knowing what's going on) situation and have some fun with it at the same time. Back when my step-daughter was having problems with getting her greencard due to the name check I did anything and everything I could to get it done and ultimately it worked.

Marina received her oath ceremony letter today and it is scheduled for November 10 at noon in Chicago. (yaaay!) See my new post in this forum for the "but...." that goes along with the receipt of her letter. :help:

Thanks to all for the guidance and support and speedy processing to all!

Hey guys I got a letter from my Senators office. They state that they will be in touch with me. As per the letter the USCIS has 30 days to give them an update. What the heck ever. Feyser,

I think most files are getting sent to the NBC for certain parts of the Naturalization process.

I still have not heard any updates on my file. I made an appointment with the local office in November since that was the only date available. I checked the district courts that do the oath ceremony. There were none from June till Oct. <_<

So you made an Info pass appointment? If yes I think that's a good idea. Seems to me the speed of the process for naturalization is very much dependent on the local district office and how fast they are. Just a thought since Chicago seems to be very fast. The place was packed when we were there and I was thinking if this is happening every day then alot of people are getting immigration benefits in this area!

Feyser,

I think most files are getting sent to the NBC for certain parts of the Naturalization process.

I still have not heard any updates on my file. I made an appointment with the local office in November since that was the only date available. I checked the district courts that do the oath ceremony. There were none from June till Oct. <_<

Yeah I agree. St Paul is probably busy or just super slow at processing the stuff. November 12th is my appointment So we shall see what happens from here on out.
