Shabbat Shalom you guys! No one is up :(

Today, so far, the highlights are:

1. I feel like #######

2. I feel nervous too so I bit my nails too far and some of them really hurt/are bleeding

3. I am planning "welcome" baskets for people when they come, complete with toiletries, towels, and whatnot. So I am open to any and all suggestions! i am thinking luffas, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deoderant, razors, nail clippers/files, wash cloths, towels, lotions, what else? He thinks he is going to tell his family to leave everything at home except a few clothing items and buy everything here. Now, knowing him, he's going to think we can go get this stuff after they arrive because that's what he always made me do in Jordan. I think it's better to plan in advance!

ETA: Nawal-- yes, he is now back on the idea that his sisters and I can share a room and then he and the men can share a room. I am going to try squash this somehow. He thinks it would be better because that way girls have one bathroom and men have another. Why are they so intent on seperating married couples??

Men and women can still have one bathroom while the married couples share a room. I don't know all the details though.

In other news my ears are almost all better. Thx for asking everyone.

Great! I was wondering how your ears are doing.

The second bathroom is behind our bedroom, so in order to go to it, one would need to open our room and pass through. That would also involve likely waking me up since I work at night. This is his concern. He doesn't think 2 couples can share one bathroom. I fail to see why not. I mean, it's not like the wives are going to be haning out in the tub secretly while someone else's husband is trying to go to the bathroom. It's weird to me. He wants to basically crowd all of us in our room and then they can split up between two rooms. Sounds like a raw deal to me :) But maybe it's part of my weird territorial feelings. He wants me to share a bed with one of his sisters. Is this just me being weird, or is this a cultural divide? I think it's cultural, but I also highly dislike the idea of splitting up married couples (ETA: we have 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms.. and 2 of the bedrooms are on either side of one bathroom, which is how I want to put them-- each couple in their own room, sharing a bathroom. You figure i'll only be asleep half the day hogging my own bathroom. This is supposed to last for 20 days. SO this will help people judge if I am being weird.)

Today is already quite a day. Last night I was supposed to pick Tarik up from the airport BUT his flight out of Atlanta was cancelled! :( So he's been at the ATL airport since 7pm last night hanging around (possibly falling asleep). His flight leaves in one hour and he's supposed to get to Columbus at 9:10am. INSHAALLAH He gets on the plane and INSHAALLAH I will have him in my arms within the next few hours. I'm currently running on a total sleep time of 6 hours in the past two days. Last night I only slept for 1.5 hours! I miss him so much! Hopefully I'll be able to hold him within the next 2.5 hours! :)

I say let the monkey handle it julianna. After that, explain to him how sharing a bathroom is all too common-a-thing in the USA and that they might appreciate the experience. AND that you're a family so what's the problem in sharing a bathroom anyway? Tell him to explain to them that if they're using it, just lock the door to ur room and you'll do the same; unlock when done and kaboom, all is well with the world.

LOL! Well, I don't think he's really thinking about this all the way... because... if he makes them share a room with me, then not only will I be holding their bathroom hostage for 8+ hours, but I will also be getting ready while they are sleeping in that room, and I will additionally be holding their stuff hostage as well during the day. If they had their own rooms, then they could get into them at any time as well as get into their bathroom at any time. It seems soooo logical to me LOL.

good morning MENA!

Julianna, i certainly wouldnt want to bunk up with the sisters ( nothing personal ) but that's just me. Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but didnt you post a while back that you' tend to kick in your sleep?? I would tell your husband that you might cause bodily harm to his sisters and it's in their best interest that you stay far away them during the night...lol  When are they coming? I bet your husband is very excited! I would love for my husband's family to come visit us. How long did the visitor visa process take for them?

I work 11pm-7am so I wouldn't be sleeping with them at the same time.. well..except Sun and Mon nights... yeah, I do kick in my sleep!

Well, one sister has a visa so far-- the 5year. Now, he wants to apply now for his other sister who is also in her 50s, and then the husband of the sister who has a visa and then the new applicant sister's husband as well. Right now, he is saying he doesn't want to have anyone show up until after Ramadan, so October.

We applied July 2 for her, then her interview was July 28th. They had her pick up her passport 4 days later with the visa intact.
