Just curious about USCs affinity for SOs country/culture. I expect lots of answers will have to do with the ability to earn a living there, or leaving family and friends here. Our SOs show great courage and love for us in leaving everything they know to join us. What if the situation were reversed?

D'oh! :lol: That's what I get for asking an unresearched question. I just saw the thread asking non-USCs if they would have moved here but for the relationships with USCs. I was curious about the other direction.

One of the beautiful things about VJ is that most issues are covered really well, and any question or comment posted will be mulled, supported, criticized, corrected, and applauded in the same thread (if you are lucky). :yes:

Yeah, I'd emigrate to Canada (Nova Scotia) in a New York minute if I were able to. I have no family here...it's just me, my husband, and my daughter. As for being able to survive there, not a problem...as soon as I find out what requirements are needed for teaching in Canada I plan on taking care of that. All his family are there as well. Yep. No doubt about it. I'm already there in my heart. :)

That's why I said I would split our time. I just can't see a way to support us there. At least not nearly as well as we can live here. Otherwise I wouldn't mind moving to her country, trying to get fluent, etc. I love the culture and the country.

Yes!!! When our papers got lost on their way from the USCIS to the NVC and we had no idea where they were. Daniel had already started planning on how he will move to India, the house here, his job and everything. I know he would. We still plan to buy a vacation home in the mountains there and spend a lot of time in India..
