We just received our greencards today. I was wondering when we get within the 90 days to remove the conditional status, do we need to go through another interview? Or do they just send new cards with the 10 year experitation?

Thanks.

They don't "just send them"; you have to apply.

Some people get interviewed. Most do not.

Well like my disclaimer on the bottom just giving advice from personal experience, our INS officer told us if the green card expires without the extra paper work submitted within the 90 days prior to expiration you will be deported.

She bluntly told Anton he would be deported back to his home country of Austria rather than Canada where he has residency.

Congrats on the green card,

Moondancer

7-3-06 GREEN CARD ARRIVES IN MAIL!!!! Done for two years!!!!!!

I am here to help, even if it's just to offer my shoulder to cry or vent on... We are all in this together.!

My answers are based on personal experience, not fact.

We are on this rollercoaster ride together holding on for dear life.

By the time this is over you will have learned all kinds of steps, be ready for Dancing With the Stars. LOL

Whether you get called in for an interview or the removal is approved without an interview is somewhat luck(or unluck) of the draw. If you have everything in order the odds are in your favor that you won't, but they randomly select some for interviews just to keep things honest.

If things work they way they did for us, once the removal is approved you will go into your local immigration office with the approval notice and they will fill out the paperwork for your 10 year I-551 card. Since it may take a few months you can get an I-551 stamp in your passport to hold you over until you receive the card.

I don't want to apply. I want to see if it comes...maybe I will get lucky?

to wait is not a good idea, because on the uscis website it says you have to apply or you will get deported, so you better apply. For more information you better go to their webpage...

Good Luck on the rest of your journey

I don't think you understand... you must file the I-751 within 90 days of the expiry of the 2-year GC. There is no "optional" associated with it... Whether or not you get interviewed after the I-751 is either based on the quality of the evidence that you submited, the circumstances of your case, or the luck of the draw for a random quality control interview.

You must file or you will be out of status and deported from the USA. It is good to note the date you must submit your paperwork. And as others have said it is 50/50 chance you will have to travel for interview or get lucky and have new card issued without personal interviews. Good luck and read up on the next step so you are informed.

I went to the mailbox again today, and I didn't see our 10 year pr cards yet. Well, I guess I will go again tomorrow. My fingers are still crossed. You have to admit, it would be really cool if I go to the mailbox and my 10 year PR cards are there someday. Especially without applying for them...

If you just received your first green cards on Thursday, why would you expect to receive replacement cards on the next day?
