So I have a wedding dress and Casey does not know. We have pretty much decided to just go to the court (or wherever you go there lol) and do it...no wedding. I have the dress already, would it be lame to wear when we get married even if we don't have a wedding? I am leaning towards it being dumb :unsure:

*January 24 2006 - mailed in I129-F petition

*January 25 2006 - I129-F received at CSC

*January 30 2006 - packet returned.....arggggggggg we forgot one signature!!

*January 31 2006 - sent I129-F back to the CSC, hope we did not forget anything else

I used to work in a county court ... I've seen people get married there in everything from ripped jeans to full-out wedding regalia.

As for us, he wore a suit and I wore a white dress (not a wedding dress) but do what works for you! It's your day!

Wear it. There were other couples at the court house when we got married that were in long white gowns. I personally wanted to do the jeans thing. Paul had thought he had a pair of dress slacks here...but he didn't. So we rushed out to Wal-Mart for some black slacks for him. My romantic hubby just wouldn't settle for jeans.

Look nice it's your special day. When we had our civil wedding I wore a white and black dress with heels, not my wedding gown which I saved for our reception day, and Anton wore a suit.

But wear whatever makes you feel happy and special.

I agree with the others - You should definitely wear the dress!! You got it, flaunt it!! (F) Mind you, if you were going to have another wedding/blessing style session later on for friends and family sometime in the future ... well you could wear it both times - lucky girl! - or not bother for the civil ceremony bit at the court house and go for it at the second date.

But it sounds as though you're only having one occasion, so it seems rather a shame not to wear the frock - you might regret it down the line if you don't ...

But having laid all that on you .... :lol: you should wear what makes you happy! :yes:

My best friend had a courthouse wedding and wore her lovely white wedding gown. It doesn't look dumb.

I've kept my dress (for our second ceremony) hidden from my husband by having it stored in a garment bag. He knows not to open it.
