Just a quick survey for those who had finished or have Interview appointments. Is the location of your biometrics/finger printing in the same local office as your Interview?

The location of my biometrics is in the neighboring state. But I heard that interviews are done in the local state office which is located at our state capital.

Biometrics - New Orleans

Interview - Jacksonville.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

Since we just happen to live on the border between St. Paul and Milwaukee, must be a coin toss and can only speculate whoever schedules the biometric appointments assumes we are closer to Milwaukee. Far more inconvenient for us, downtown with poor parking, but consider the delays if we try to change it. So we just assume the status of lambs and follow our shepherd to get it over with.

But did tell my wife, if we lived in Hudson, WI only 15 miles away from St. Paul and over 300 from Milwaukee, may request a change, if that is even possible. She has a friend that lives within 50 miles of St. Louis, but lives in IL, and they send her to Chicago, but also afraid to request a change. But not as bad as being forced to go to our consulate office as a PR, only three in the entire USA and have to appear in person.

Ten hours of driving for us, just for two minutes it takes for a 3rd set of fingerprints, doesn't make sense.

It depends.

Biometric appointment can be done from Application Support Center (ASC), which can be same place as your local DO, or different location.

If your local DO has ASC located in same building, chances are good to have both biometric/interview at same place.

But if it is not, probably you may have to visit two different places.

Also, if the schedule for specific ASC is too busy, you may have to visit other ASC closed to you.

Interview officer will work from local District Office in most case.

But ASC may not be same as your local DO.

Sometimes ASC may be located in convenient place such as mall or something like that.

Our biometrics was done at the ASC in Santa Rosa. We're quite a bit closer to the San Francisco office than the Santa Rosa ASC, but the Santa Rosa ASC is assigned to support our area. The interview was in San Francisco. The oath was at a different location in San Francisco. Different offices will handle things differently.

For us, every single time either of us met an immigration officer face-to-face during the entire journey from first visa through citizenship, it was at an office we'd never seen before, except that the biometrics for the I-751 and N-400 were both taken at the same Santa Rosa office.

Did anyone here request a change of field office for either the interview or the biometrics? If so, how did you do it and how much extra time did it take?

Believe if the USCIS sent us to the city by the Bay, we would have gone for biometrics.
