Hi everyone,

My UK boyfriend and I are planning to get married this fall in the UK. He is then going to get a K3 visa to immigrate to the US. I know that the I-130 and I-129f are filed at US offices, but can I mail them from the UK (after our wedding) so I can stay with him during the process, or do I have to physically be in the US when I file? If I have to be in the US when I file, is there any other time during the process that I can go visit him?

Thanks!

Are you a UK resident? If so you may be able to file in England. Have a look at the US Consulate website in the UK because it can be much quicker. I am in New Zealand with my husband until he is approved but I filed in the US by mistake. Didn't realize I could file in New Zealand. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

No, unfortunately I am not a UK citizen or resident so I can't file through the consulate. Good luck to you, too!
