I think some of the people here in VJ with that same experience as yours had made an INFOPASS appointment with their local USCIS office. If that happens to me thats what I will do...

Any ways hang in there, we should get our permits by the end of this month. It sucks with out working, I am going to protest for the work permit :protest::) Good luck

We are still waiting and it is 90 days plus. Have called UCIS and was hoping to get a service request, but they siad we had to wait 30 days after the 75 day mark. They did say we could request an info pass. Hang in there, you are not alone.

It takes around 90 days to get the work permit and that is if you don't get an RFE, which delays the EAD. I think you will get yours in August, a little bit of patience pays off. Check the processing times on the USCIS website when they update mid-August and if your filing date falls outside the EAD processing times, then call them. Right now, you are well within processing times and there's no reason to worry.

Take a look at my timeline for an idea. And check out the April 2008 AOS filers thread - as far as I remember, as of August 4th, there were 59 EAD approvals out of 110 filers.

Just don't expect amazing results from the infopass. All the local office can do is notify NBC that you're still waiting. Interim EADs for people who are not approved within 90 days no longer exist.

I think it depends on who handles paperwork. For my K1 visa, so many people got noa2 within 4 months, but I had to wait for over 7 months. No RFE. I called up USCIS so many times and they kept saying it was all up to the officer.

So crazy.

Now, I am in the US, and I waited long enough to get K1 visa, so I really want EAD soon, too.

7/19 AOS package has been mailed

7/21 AOS package was arrived in Chicogo.

7/28 NOA1 for AOS, EAD, AP

8/15 Biometric done

Just wished to say that we made Infopass appointment last Monday, but, we didn't need to go to USCIS, because we received CRIS email 4 days later on Friday. EAD card production ordered. Thanks again fellow VJ members for good advice!!! :)

i believe it took close to 90 days for us.

I believe it takes the majority of people 3-4 months. This isn't the first time I've seen people who are getting anxious about not receiving their EAD within 2 months. Where are people getting this from? I'm sure the normal timeframe from USCIS is 90 days, and we all know it usually takes longer. I do know I've seen on VJ at least one person who got theirs within 2 months, but only one.

I've heard tell a few people here on VJ who went to an infopass appointment. The person at the office sent an email inquiring about the EAD. Don't know if that makes any difference or not. However, if 1000 people went down, I'm sure they'd stop this gesture pretty fast.

People need to be either better informed about this process before they begin to understand that EAD, AP, and AOS can't be applied for until after marriage, and even then will take several months. If people need to be working sooner than that, then they really need to be looking at coming in on other visas that will allow that.
