:thumbs::thumbs: Couples really must talk about everything (above and beyond) before they commit themselves to one another.

Exactly.

Time management is the answer. Also, having a career gives me self-fulfillment.

I agree as well.

I speak my mind, so please don't take it personally.

Which do you prefer? to work or not to work?

If you're going to work does it mean that you're just using the other person?

If you're working does it mean that you will have no time for your partner?

These questions sound funny to me but have still sense to give my views. The interpretations of either you work or not seem to be limited in that sense. After finishing my college, I have been in my job and profession. When I will get married, given with the opportunities and I fit to that job/work, it is not that I will be using the person (my husband) rather; I will be helping my husband on financial aspect, I have the avenues to grow and become a better person

(self-fulfillment), I meet my self-actualization needs and that simply shows I am not lazy, dumb and I am relatively independent woman.

If you will work and you don't have time for your partner?? It depends on your time management and priorities. Your paradigm would really matter in this aspect.

This can also be discussed by the couple on what is their preference.

I prefer to work.

What a question is that? LOL! If i work that means im helping my husband to earn a living for us and for our family and have a better life.

If you're working does it mean that you will have no time for your partner?

It doesn't mean no time. It's just a matter of time management.

I want to work and me and my husband agreed on that. I had my career way back in Pinas and I was always on the go. Plus, I also want to help pay bills and other stuff...having both couples working is an advantage (my 2 cents) and it doesn't mean that you are no longer a good wife. You only need the ability to balance family and career and things will be alright...(my another 2 cents)

after 9 mos here in the US, i feel bored and wanting to work and so my husband agreed on me working, it feels nice to earn your own $$ and help him pay some bills and take him out to dinner and be able to buy things out of my own and send some stuff back home from your own earnings... It really depends up to what you want to do.

I posted similar topics about working and not to work. This is just like what everybody says, Time Management.. but you know it will be nice to hear also if your husband wanted you to stay home and he will take care of the expenses, but it also great that he wll let you do what you want to do in your life.. This needs to be discuss between you and your husband.. In my case, my husband does want me to do whatever makes me happy.. I have been working and still working 14 hours a day and still have to play with son at home.. This is taking a lot of energy but I am happy, yes sometimes I wish that I can just stay at home and be with my son as I feel guilty for not being there with him in day time.. But if I am not working, we will not be enjoying the kind of life we have, Travel, paying house, helping families, better our future. This will be the agreement between the two of you.. but if he preferred you to be at the house, you may want to sacrifice and give it a try.. as you know relationship is also taking compromise and if this is not working for you, just explain that you are not happy about it.. Remember communication plays a very important in relationship, no matter how you love each other but if you dont know how to talk it will be useless.

I must say: TO WORK! First it gives me satisfaction, fulfilment and justice to my education. Secondly, I believe marriage/relationship is a two way communication needs to analyze certain things according to priorities & necessities of marriage life for what are best for the couple’s interests. Thirdly, I want to help my family here in the Philippines not because I am obligated to do it but because I cannot leave my family behind and I would love to share my blessings too.
