Which do you prefer? to work or not to work?

If you're going to work does it mean that you're just using the other person?

If you're working does it mean that you will have no time for your partner?

thats a bit of a "lopside" question in my opinion...

nevertheless it depends on you and your partner... i work because i wana help my husband to pay the bills (and or im bored doing nothing all day while my hubby is busy working in our store/business)... we still have time for each other knowing i made sure our day offs are on the same day etc... just my 2 cents... im sure others have valid reason as well... although again, the question for me is a bit unbalanced (the negativity per se)

we have the same reasons. I want to help him pay the bills also. You're even fortunate cos you have your own business while we're only depending on his job. I'm really confused. Or maybe he doesn't want me to step on his ego and his pride. I thought husband and wives should help each other....

Thanks for your reply RonMay.

I think that both should work if the couple agrees upon that.... It gives both a sense of accomplishment and contribution! Marriage is a partnership and when you both contibute, it makes your marriage that much closer and stronger. Believe me, you can always find time for each other when you both work. There is 24 hours in a day! Good Luck to you!

To Work!!! I have a career before I met him so I made that clear to him! It doesn't mean you are not being a "good wife" if you are working on the contrary you are helping. With the economy crisis today everywhere in the world I don't think one income is enough unless of course if he is a millionaire. We never had problems about that part as long as we both agreed family is the first priority and our relationship of course.

Well to be honest I'm not working in our business LOL not anymore. At least not for the moment. I'm working at ace hardware at $8.50/hr hehe not enough but I'm just happy to meet a lot of people. I might find another job in the winter haha

I'm not sure even a million bucks is enough for a one-income situation anymore. I'd want to string a few millions together before I felt secure! :)

If you're going to work does it mean that you're just using the other person?

- I don't understand your question? How can I be just using the other person if I'm working? headscratch.gif

Or maybe he doesn't want me to step on his ego and his pride.

He don't wants you to work? what made you think that by you working, you will be stepping on his ego or pride?

I speak my mind, so please don't take it personally.

I don't know, maybe he's thinking that the husband should provide for the family while the wife stays at home and take care of the family.

Let me ask you this, before you met you fiance, what was your goal in life? to have a career or be a house wife/ SAHM?

I don't see the rationale behind 'working equates using the other person'

What may work for Juan and Juana may not be feasible for Pedro and Petra coz we all have different financial situation and also different priorities/goals in life. So this is an issue that should be best discussed and agreed upon prior to staying I DOs.
