Hooking up an Atari

Anyone have an Atari 2600 out there hooked up to their LCDs?

I know there is an adaptor that takes the RCA cable from the Atari and changes the signal to Coaxial... thereby eliminating using the TV/Computer RF switch... this may be the quickest solution but I'm curious what others may be doing if they actually have an old console like this on a newer TV.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I just asked one the old video game guru's here at work. Here's his reply:

Hook the Atari 2600 to the RF input on a VCR and have the Composite AV out go into the LCD. Make sure the VCR is on and on the proper channel/input setting.

I was thinking the same thing. Probably route the coaxial adaptor through the cable box... but I think my LCD has a secondary coaxial input... unless I just use an RCA splitter.

I am not sure if the RCA style will match the RCA ports on the TV... I'll try that tonight just in case. The audio of course would concern me.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

LOL

I thought you were shooting out the headlights there for a minute.

Pong? No thanks... it will be Pac-Man and Missile Command for me.

Oh yeah, and Night Driver...

Looks like it will be a visit to Tandy Corp tomorrow for that adaptor. My LCD has 2 RCA inputs but the TV doesn't recognize the Atari's RCA jack. Crossing my fingers on this one. The DVD player doesn't have any inputs... cheapo Pioneer.
