Hate to break it to you, but nachos are actually a US (TexMex) type invention. They are delicious though! And Mexico did invent the tequila which goes in the margarita which is so delicious with nachos and cheese!

I disagree w/zqt's statement. The narcos would love for you to believe that the above is true so that the good citizens of Mexico will just give up and the government would give in to the narcos. Calderon is in an unenviable position. He has demonstrated that he's got the balls to take on the cartels (even if he is a bookworm).

I will say that corruption has been endemic in Mexico and that this administration and Fox's administration have attempted to reverse the trend of this endemic corruption.
