Hey ladies. Simple question, although stupid. When I and husband came back from Ja about 1 1/2 years ago, we ended up with his brothers pants in our suitcase (really seriosly, we all stayed together). Well guess what they had some weed residue in them. We paid a fine and they sent us on our way. It was like literally residue. So now we are filing the I-751 do we need to put yes to the question below. GOD, I hate to put yes. Then again, Im afraid to put no.

Have you ever been arrested, detained, charged, indicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking or violating any

law or ordianance (excluding traffic regulations), or committed any crime which you were not arrested in

the United States or abroad?

My husband had a minor incident that ended up being a trespassing charge. He was only detained for this and later a court date. We payed a fine of $162.50 and it was done. I marked yes. I enclosed the original letter from the lawyer stating this was the end of it, the paper from the court, and the receipt from the court showing we paid the fine.

I mailed in our LOC on Tuesday.

If there is a record of this anywhere, you need to list it and show the outcome of it.

Where did you pay the fine? At customs?

Yes, we were stopped at the US Customs in Minneapolis. They fined us $500.00, under MISC and made us both sign a letter saying we wouldnt do it again...that was it. We have traveled back and forth to Jamaica since then and they of course do an extra search on us, but that is it.

Well yeah they said its on our Custom Record. All we have is a little paper receipt that says MISC $500.00. They didnt give us anything else.

You absolutely have to mark yes then. And, you need to dig up any paperwork you have on it.

Here at work, we can do a country-wide search of all police records using an internet program. We pay per search. I would suggest you figure out a way to do something like that and see exactly what it say you were detained for and what they said the outcome was.

I will do that. Can you tell me the program you all use?

Tomorrow, I will post it and PM you. Maybe it will help someone else down the line too.

Because of the nature of this.....drugs.....even in that tiny quality, I think it should be taken seriously on the LOC. I just feel like it has to be written down somewhere that if dug up and not on the form will not be a good thing.
