Hubby had his interview on Tuesday (Aug. 5th) and was only in for 20 minutes. Interviewer told him how much she loved Marrakech and said how lovely Morocco was then said let's get started. Asked how we met, did we have any kids (no). Asked 6 questions about constitution etc., asked him to read 3 sentences and write one. Said congratulations you've been approved and gave him the paper stating so. She said he'd hear in about 3 weeks or so when the oath ceremony would be. So, it's finally over.

Makes me wonder though why we even spent the $275 for the lifting of conditions. Took forever for his 10 yr gc to arrive, only to have applied for naturalization in the meantime. Nice chunk of change to have just thrown away.... grrrrrr

Congratulations!!! Being all done with the USCIS is a wonderful feeling.

Diana

Was a great feeling for us for a second, but now wondering if we will get a letter like some board members did that passed requesting even more evidence. Or if we will even get a letter at all for the oath ceremony.

The interview letter for us meant time to crack open the books and study hard, organize all the original documents, and schedule fill ins for that day we had to take off, check out the vehicle to make sure it would make that long trip and save a couple of bucks for gas. Wife had to wash my mouth out wit soap when we hit a detour that was not reported on the state road construction maps, another time with an accident, but not that serious, still one lane was left opened. We were dead tired and stressed out when we finally got home.

In nature can take centuries to build a beautiful city that can be wiped out in seconds by a volcano, storm, or even a bomb. Feel the same about my brief case, after all that organization, still a mess after the interview, that's still hanging over my head.

Told my wife, she still has to be on her best behavior until the oath ceremony is over. She is a good little girl anyway, but does have that stress, if a bit naughty, will have extra consequences. I did compile all of her study materials, and we both agreed to pitch them, sure was a lot of work for six easy questions for her, and writing, "I am a very good cook."

We do have a bottle of expensive champagne that we may or may not drink after the oath ceremony, still have a lot of other responsibilities that require sober attention.

Flava, this is how you tell them the way it is. LOL.

Hey Coloradogirl,

Anyway you are almost done.

Congratulations!

And I think we need to manage stress in some other way instead of throwing out some words we can hurt each other.

Don't loose temper. It may cost a lot of things from you.

Probably we may need to put "USCIS" logo in the wall, and practice shooting game with it. ^^

Come on! Everybody is going through tough time when dealing with USCIS.

Let's encourage each other for better mood.

An alcoholic father that beat her mother, fights and arguments, your guess is as good as mine as to why my step daughter is very argumentative and has a very short fuse. But that mouth of hers has gotten her into a lot of trouble. She is learning that the hard way, but slowly coming around that you can't expect people to treat you decent until you treat them decent yourself. Flava kind of reminds me of my daughter and needs some guidance, but she shouldn't have to get that off the net. I have never yelled at my step daughter nor cut her down, she tends to blame everyone else, just quietly point some things out to her and how to avoid some of the situations she gets herself into.

I am sorry about the post regarding interview. I was meant as sheer fun with absolutely no ill-feelings, though. I appreciate your humane approach and your keen interest in the forum.
