My case got transferred to DC. Checked the status today and it says I was touched again today. So many touches in the past week but nothing else. Wonder if I am gonna be stuck in DC now like I was stuck in VSC.

Touching is good. It means they are working on it.

I submitted my I 130 in Nov. 2007, NOA1 Jan 2008, Online case status shows case is transferred but doesnt mension to which office; no hard copy of transfer notice received so far; What is "TOUCHED" means? how can i see if new USCIS(God knows which one) is working on my case?

Welcome to the forum

To see when your case has been "touched" go to www.uscis.gov click case status online in first page, then click to register. Follow the prompts and make sure you sign up for email updates. Where it says last updated, there is usually a date. The date changes when your case has undergone some kind of internal processing. It means, someone looked at it or it was moved from somewhere or something. It's usually an indicator that yoru case will be approved or you will ge RFE, if it has been touched repeatedly. GOod luck to you.

Okay I am starting to pull out my hair again.

They have not touched my case and so many others since the 12th of August, today is the 19th. I hope I am wrong but it seems that VSC transferred our poor petitions to CSC to get us out of their way ( so no one would trip over them)and now the petitions are the new dust collectors in California.

And don't even get me started on the fact that they are not honoring our Received Petition dates....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its like they have no pity, no concern and Oh whatever I just want to be approved and end this dreadful nightmare called The Visa Process. Its like a punishment for falling in love and marrying a non american.

I think I'm gonna call them, what is California's service Center number?

Well I am sane again. My last post was a little out there, but as I said I am sane again, it must be all these extra pregnancy hormones that sometimes make me climb the walls waiting for some action with this visa.

But I am grateful that we have seen some movement in the last weeks. This is a good sign and I am very happy for all of those who have been approved.

The way I see it, those of us with more touches are likely generating an RFE than an approval. So your resting on 8/12 seems like a potentially good thing. I've had 2 touches since then and I'm betting that I'm getting an RFE. This is just what my gut says. I talked with an agent yesterday and she didn't say that there was an RFE in the works for me, but she said that it sounds very possible. She also said she didn't know what they were doign with the transfers but she was very nice, unlike those I've spoken with in Vermont. I called late -- just after 5 PM Eastern so I knew it'd get sent to California. Just call the 800# that's on the online system when you look at your case.

Did calling tell me anything really? No. But it felt nice just to touch base.

Oh, and she said that even if you have a suspicion of an RFE and you think you know what it is about already, don't send anything until they ask for it as they may misplace something that doesn't have a request already outstanding. It is like if it doesn't have a bin to go into, it may fall onto the floor. Seems like sound advice.
