I am seeing on numerous posts that people are saying received NO1 or N02 online hardcopy followed later. How do you get set up online to review your status, there is nothing on the i29f form that lets you put your email address in. Just wondering as it would be nice to track it once we get started.

Whenever you get your check cashed, check the back of it. There you should find a number starting with EAC08 or WAS08.

(Eac is for Vermont, Was is for California)

That is your receipt number! It is also the same number you will find when you receive the NOA1 hard copy.

When you have that receipt number, go on http://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

and register yourself as a customer. When you log in you can register your application to your portfolio and register to receive email updates. Remember that you will only receive email updates when you register, when you are approved or when you receive RFEs.

Otherwise, whenever you log in you will see a "last updated" date. That is the day your application received the last "touch".

Maritimer,

You only get your check back if that is the way your checking account is setup with your bank.

I have the carbon copy type of checkbook, and my canceled checks are not sent back to me.

The way I got my USCIS number was to go online with my bank account and viewed the back of the check that way.

I hope this made sense.

Stevi
