Hi,

I'm a US Citizen and my daughter was also US Citizen by birth (born in USA).

I'm sponsoring to bring my parents from Vietnam to US. My daughter and I are currently visiting my parents in Vietnam.

My question is: if I leave my daughter to stay in Vietnam with my parents, can my parents take her to the US once they receive their Visa? Or do I have to go back to Vietnam and take her back to US myself?

Please advise. Thanks.

She could travel with anyone with her Parents permission.

Of course. IF your parents get the visas. If I were you, I would leave a notarized letter with your parents stating you know she is with them and they will bring her back to you when they visit.

I've had to prove similiar from my ex-husband at a couple of airports when I took my kids on international visits.

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

Check with the local authorities and/or the airline to find out what kind of paperwork they need so she can leave the country with them. The problem is not so much if they'll let her in the US but if they'll let her leave without you. In Colombia for example a child needs a notarized permission slip signed by both parents and it cannot be older than 30 days; otherwise, the child cannot leave the country. If the child is a US citizen, a notarized letter from either parent is enough.
