I have a few questions, again.

Mostly it's regarding the I693 stuff, which I've looked up answers for and, while I've found out some stuff, there's still a few things I'm confused on.

1: They didn't take the big brown envelope with my chest x-ray and whatever else at the POE (which in my case was Chicago). Does this mean anything?

2: If I didn't receive an RFE for the I-693, does that mean they've got it? Because all I submitted with regards to medical things when I filed the I-485 was the DS-3025 vaccination information sheet.

3: I haven't had a varicella vaccination done. I keep reading something about an 'antibody test' that they can do for people who've had chickenpox in the past, but is it easier to just get the vaccination?

4: If, by some chance, I didn't have absolutely everything by the time of my interview, would they deny my application over something minor, or does it have to be a major thing like my becoming a public charge or committing a crime or not marrying within 90 days?

5: My online case status says only that they've received my response to the RFE I got for sponsorship, but nothing more, although since then I've received my EAD card and gotten an interview date. Are they just slow on updating or does this mean that the interview might not be the last part of the process? I thought if I had my EAD card and an interview date it meant that they'd approved the response to the RFE.

Thanks again.

I don't have answers to ALL your questions but I noticed that nobody else had responded so I wanted to try and help somehow!

1) I didn't even show my chest x-ray at POE, but they opened the brown envelope I carried - that's how they processed my entry. Did you give them ANYTHING at POE? I'm just wondering how they let you in...

2) Assuming you gave them SOMETHING at POE, then in theory all you needed to submit with AOS was the vaccination supplement. Some people have managed just to send the DS-3025; others have had it transcribed onto the (preferred) I-693. Some people have received an RFE for submitting the DS-3025 instead of the I-693, but in some cases it's been enough.

3) If your varicella vaccination wasn't done (and you didn't have proof on the DS-3025 of having had chicken pox OR the vaccination) then your DS-3025 would have been incomplete when you sent it in. I had this problem. I had chicken pox when I was 4 back in England, but no record of it. I was living in the Netherlands when filing for K-1 but neither UK or NL offered the varicella vaccination. I had it done by a Civil Surgeon here in the US, who also transcribed my DS-3025 onto the I-693, which he put in a sealed envelope that I submitted with my AOS application.

I don't know the answers to your other questions but I hope this helps somewhat!

1) They don't care about the x-ray

2) It probably means they found your foreign medical

3) If additional vaccinations are required they will let you know

4) If the file is not approvable you will not be approved. Many things can make a file unapprovable (both simple and complex).

5) Interview will not be the last part of the process if after the interview your file is not approvable. This could be anything from missing information to administrative review for name check to a host of other items.

YMMV

I'm not sure what you mean by "If, by some chance, I didn't have absolutely everything by the time of my interview" but the key thing for the interview is to prove that you have a bona fide (real) marriage. You need to bring evidence of that like, joint bank account, joint lease, joint mortgage, joint utility bills, pictures from your wedding and other pics with family, etc Things like that.

If they scheduled you for an interview it means that you have passed the application stage and will be approved/denied based on the interview. If something was wrong/missing with your paperwork, you would have received another RFE before they moved to the interview.

*This is my opinion.

3: I haven't had a varicella vaccination done. I keep reading something about an 'antibody test' that they can do for people who've had chickenpox in the past, but is it easier to just get the vaccination? If you don't have health insurance, the cost of the antibody test is about the same as the vaccination. Do you know if you've had chicken pox? If so, have the antibody test, if not, then get vaccinated.

4: If, by some chance, I didn't have absolutely everything by the time of my interview, would they deny my application over something minor, or does it have to be a major thing like my becoming a public charge or committing a crime or not marrying within 90 days? If you don't have everything they want (paperwork, vaccinations, proof of relationship, etc) they will give you time to get it, or deny

You need to provide all the documents they require. If you've submitted an incomplete AOS packet, and didn't get an RFE for something, they can request it at interview. Usually they give 30 days to submit the info back to them before they make a decision.

Having proof of a valid relationship is also key. Comingling assets, bills, insurances, etc to prove you are living together as husband & wife. If you don't have this proof, they won't approve. You don't need to committ a crime to get denied AOS.
