Hey everyone,

I am missing my W2s from 2007 .... don't ask .... ((rolls eyes at self))

Will a tax transcript from the IRS for 2007 be sufficient rather than a 1040 with missing W2?

I am almost 100% positive that you have to submit the W-2 form. The transcript is definitely needed though. Can't you obtain another 2007 W-2? Usually work places have them available through their Human Resources... Good luck.

the transcript will be fine. you can not have transcript if you do not have the w-2. it is just the details of your tax payments.

i had the same question before cus i was in a similar dilemma.. the IRS transcript is authoritative. it encompasses everything. the pre-screener accepted the IRS transcript for 2006 (my husband has a certificate of no file for 2007), even if i didn't provide a w-2.

I-130 Sent : 2008-04-08

I-130 NOA1 : 2008-04-14

touched: 2008-04-28

touched: 2008-05-12

touched: 2008-06-20

APPROVED: 2008-06-23

IR1 abandoned.

I-129F Sent : 2008-04-25

I-129F NOA1 : 2008-04-28

touched: 2008-05-13

touched: 2008-06-20

APPROVED: 2008-06-23

NOA2 received in mail: 2008-06-26 (*still pending on website*)

I-129F left NVC on the way to the US Embassy in Manila: 2008-07-02
