Said told me today that he can not send money from the bank to my bank. He was informed that unless it is for someone in school abroad or a medical emergency money does not leave morocco! Now he has to buy his plane ticket there, which is way more expensive! :angry: Hes going to go to the airport and go to the different airlines to ask about prices. Anyone have any ideas :unsure:

Why can't he go on priceline.com and purchase it there with a visa card?

He doesnt have a visa card. He has my prepaid debet card that I load here and it will only go up to 500.00.

That is completely not true. Morocco has full credit privilidges and ROYAL AIR MAROC can get money from both in and out. I think the fares are too high right now most likely. Is there a way to find out if he can come a few weeks later when the fares have dropped after the august rush

I have never heard of money not being allowed to leave Morocco...

have you tried MoneyGram or Western Union?

He tried western union yesterday and was told the same thing about money not going out.

hi, i booked ticket thsi month and cost 1000 dolars to new york, but direct flight from royal air maroc, but there are few flighst thsi week, but they are 1500 dolars

Me neither actually. How about putting his ticket on your credit card and have him give you the money when he gets here.

Have him try booking just the flight on RAM from Casa (CMN) to NY (JFK). You can often find cheaper flights w/in the US from NY to major cities.

It's true that he can't send money only for studies or medical emergency because he is moroccan. Only visitors or someone who is not moroccan but live in morocco can do it . that's the law in morocco.Please go to the "office des changes . ma " website ( you can get it from google) you'll find a response to your question.The website is in french , get it translated or tell your husband to read it.

lufthansa has flights in early september that go from casablanca to frankfurt and from frankfurt directly to portland that cost 1086$
