I've been reading this forum for a while and well before I met my girlfriend and now fiance. I was interested in reading the stories and learning about the process that everyone was going through. I never imagined I'd be joining the journey myself a year later. Must have been in the plans for my life before I knew it. :)

My name is Mark and I live in Atlanta. I'm in software sales for a major IT company. My fiance, Vipul, lives in Bangalore, India and is an HR consultant.

I met Vipul on a matrimony website back in April and we began a friendship that developed rather quickly in a long-distance relationship. I decided in June that I just had to go meet her and spend time nurturing the relationship to see where we thought it could lead. Within a day we both knew that we had found the person we wanted to spend our lives with. Going to India was a big experience for me and Vipul's family and friends made feel like I was right at home. I really miss her and the wonderful people I met. It means a lot to me that she'd be willing to leave her home, her career, her amazing family and circle of friends to be with me in the U.S. Love is certainly a funny thing sometimes and as so many her can attest, you never know when and where you might just find that right person. This is additional validation that the world is truly become more flat (for those of you who have read the Thomas Friedman book).

I'm blessed to have found such a great community of people to participate in the journey with me and to give the guidance, encouragement, and input that I know I'll need over the next several months before Vipul and I can again be together.

Best wishes to all thanks for making feel welcome no matter the questions I ask along the way.

-Mark

What a wonderful introduction Mark.

Im an August filer too :star:

Do you have any suggestions for "patience" while we wait to be reunited with our loved one?

That will be the hardest part for me.

I wish Vipul and yourself a speedy Visa Journey.

And most important, Congrats on your romance (L)
