Hello everyone - newbie to VJ here!

My fiance (US citizen) and I have been in the waiting game for ages now and since he's had all sorts of issues with his birth certificate, passport issues...we decided to go with an attorney! January this year!! Anyway, to make a long story short, fiance had EVENTUALLY sent off required info to our attorney and we had FINALLY heard from them a few weeks ago and they advised that they had sent off our paperwork to the Vermont office and that was end July/beg Aug. Last week we received another call from the att informing us that to date, they have not yet received the filing number. :crying: Is this normal?? I've emailed the att following up on this today...I know Im just getting a more than impatient here considering we've been together for almost 5 years and only almost half the time we'd been together physically.

:(

I'm sorry about your situation and realize how frustrating it must feel. Did your atty send in the check for you or did you write a personal check to the Dept of Homeland Security for the application fee? I would check to see if the check has cleared. That should be simple for your atty to tell you if it was from his/her office. If it was your check, follow up with your bank. That will at least give you and idea. I would also request that your atty provide you with the tracking number he/she used for mailing in your application. That way you can look for a proof of delivery and again get some peace of mind.

As Gemmie stated, things are moving a little slower with Vermont so if you can get proof of delivery of your petition to the Vermont Service Center, then just give another week or two before you worry too much.

Good luck-

Mark

We've had 10 years of daily communication and had been living together for a year and a half when he was denied entry. It's now been close to a year that we've been apart... with one 3 week visit. :( I know it's so difficult... especially when you're already so used to curling up in each others arms every day. My heart goes out to you. If it's any consolation, we just received our NOA2 this week and all of that pain and heartache has now dissipated and i'm once again walking around with a spring in my step and a stupid grin on my face. :) The time will seem to drag at times but keep yourself as busy as possible planning your lives together and your heart and mind focused on what's to come. Hopefully the VSC will speed right up again and you'll be on your way in no time!!!

I feel knocked back already.. our check hasn't even been cashed yet and we've already realised that we have a RFE coming our way for not printing off 4 copies of the employment supplement. 4-5 months of waiting for an RFE.. :(

Our I-129F was delivered to Vermont on 08/08/08 and we haven't heard anything yet either, I think we should all just take a deep breath and keep waiting, and try not to panic, in a way it's a good sign, they can't have lost all three of our apps :)

I concur. No need to panic yet. It took about 10 days for my check to get cashed. I'm still waiting for NOA1 to arrive in the mail. I was checking 3-4 times a day at my online bank account to see if my check had cleared. :)
