How was my SO's birthday?

I am in a business trip in Boston on her birthday. We spoke on the phone, that's the most special that we can do. My birthday a week ago was lacking and so is hers, it hurts but like I always say, we just have to be strong. So and I will be busy with follow ups for the nest 2 to 3 weeks. Wish us luck.

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

hahah thats a good one

Joke of the day haha funy funny but true!

Shrek, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez were all having lunch together.

Shrek said, 'I have always thought that I'm the strongest man in the

world, but how can I be sure?

Brad Pitt said, 'I'm pretty sure I'm the hottest man alive but I've

never had it confirmed.'

Jennifer Lopez agreed. 'I'm told I'm the sexiest of them all, but

sometimes I wonder.'

They all decided that the best way to find out if their beliefs were

true was to approach the wicked Queen's mirror to confirm for them

whether Shrek was the strongest, Brad Pitt was the hottest

and Jennifer Lopez was the sexiest.

They agreed to meet again the next day for lunch to discuss their findings.

The next day Shrek walked up with a smile. 'Well, it's true. The

mirror told me that I am the strongest man in the world.'

Brad Pitt followed and boasted, 'It is true, it has been confirmed

that I am the hottest man alive!!'

Jennifer Lopez walked in, head bent, tears in her eyes and asked, "Who

the hell is Cuchita????

I was going to ask about this, too. If they're offering you an expedite case because of their error, that's at least one good thing about the whole mess.

I wish you luck.

Hey Maliciant I was wondering where you were, did your wife get her social security card?, does it say she can work?

We got the social security number yesterday (not the card in the mail, you can go back 2 days after filing for it and get it from them). We gathered up the stuff to file the AOS and hit two snags... the first is the I-693a... it's done by a doctor so expect that to be a pain, also, there are no civil surgeons close to where I live... several hours to get to one... it's not clear if we need to show up in person to get the record trascribed... it also *seems* like you can bring it to the interview instead of including it with the application... and sometimes people get away with just sending the DS-3025 from the medical... we'll probably go that route for now, though I'm trying to find out if we can just fax the info to a doc and have them send back the i-693a. The secnond snag, that prevented us from sending the package... the US Embassy in the philippines kept the 2007 tax return transcript, and it is REQUIRED as part of the 864 affidavit of support (note that we used the 134 for the embassy but the 864 is for AOS). No big deal, just order up another copy from the IRS... it should be here in a week, and we'll file then, and maybe even have a solid idea on that vaccination form (693a). Just a heads up for those of you who haven't filed AOS, other than that, it's pretty much a matter of filling out some forms... most of them ask for an SSN but if you don't have one yet it's not a problem, they ask for A number's (filipino's!!!! the CFO sticker has a number in it that at least in our case starts with the letter A, that is NOT your A number, look for the one on documents from USCIS or the embassy, like the visa itself).

USCIS Error expedite: It'd be a lot nicer if they'd waive that filing fee while they are at it... seriously... that's not chump change. Also, I since we finally have the SSN for my wife, I filled out the forms to add her to my medical insurance... ouch... I forgot that my company pays for half my insurance, hers will cost about 340 a month... that's a big dent in the paycheck for me, since I so rarely (so far only once) use the insurance I have I've been debating if it's really worth having... in her case it's costing twice as much... when's this national health care thing coming, cause I'm starting to care about that more and more...

I'm back in the bandwagon guys and gals of VJ. Me and daughter's medical was excruciatingly painful and so much a hassle... We had to go there 3 full days and wait for hours to get entertained and interviewed or some procedures done for 3-5 minutes. It's insane and so annoying but I feel so bad for the medical workers there, I couldn't complain. They open at 6am and they close out at 10pm.. No kidding. :(

Still here in Manila and amazingly I was able to reschedule our interview to March 10, tuesday. Please please please pray for me and my daughter.

I have been sad lately because I don't have much time talking to my fiance and all the crappy stuff I have to go through for medical just wore me out and put me in a morose mood.

How's everybody? Freddy, belated happy bday to you and Emilia. Praying for you a lot.

Dani - how's it going?

Mara - finally some word from USCIS eh?

Everyone else - I MISSED YOU!!! So glad to be back.

Maliciant, what kind of medical transcripts are you talking about?

I am still all into figuring out what all I need to take with me to the US, what all needs to be translated, notarized.. which things need and which don't need an apostille, etc.

I know I still don't even have a visa, but... it can't be too early to start gathering the documents. Those things always take forever.

Happydancer, what was so bad about your medical?

I'm really interested in hearing about other countries, since here it's just.. some trivial thing, it seems. Apart from wasting some time running from one hospital to another (it seems the Embassy wanted certain panel physicians (I think two for all of Croatia) and then one special hospital to deal with the HIV/syphilis blood test, and another to deal with the chest x-ray), it was really all done within minutes. No weird procedures, no weird or unpleasant questions asked.. nothing at all. It was all done in one day and, with all the rides from one part of the town to another, it took about 5.5 hours, or so.

Welcome back sista!! I really really hope all that hasle is worth it and your life in America is full of joy!.

Maliciant: So at the end do you know if she can work now?

Here' s todays joke:

The Cowboy Boots

(Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this one!)

Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping

one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots?

He asked for help and she could see why.

Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still

didn't want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on,

she had worked up a sweat.

She almost cried when the little boy said, 'Teacher,

they're on the wrong feet.' She looked, and sure enough,

they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than

it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as

together they worked to get the boots back on, this time

on the right feet.

He then announced, 'These aren't my boots.'

She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream,

'Why didn't you say so?', like she wanted to. Once again, she

struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little

feet. No sooner had they gotten the boots off when he said,

'They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em.'

Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she

mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle

the boots on his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, 'Now, where are your Mittens?'

He said, 'I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots.'

She will be eligible for parole in three years.
