Weird indeed. I have had unpaid debts and issues with credit cards here and nothing showed on my NBI. DOes that mean I'm lucky?

YES you are! at least they told my SO to already fill out the AIR21 forms for delivery. Also the fact that she has an NBI clearance proves she hasnt murdered anyone, robbed a bank or any pending crimes! because you cannot get a certificate if you any, HAHAHAHA!

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

NBI - Yep! FBI for the U.S.

Just found out the red flags was from a dismissed credit card bill from 2006! That is what's delaying OUR VISA! I can't do anything but laugh at this! I can;t get mad at it, it will just give me wrinkles and ruin my day! haiiiiiiii I guess I just wait...

Yep... but that's kind of why they ask for the letter of explaination, to make sure the problem is something ridiculous and not serious... still sucks that it causes so much of a delay. It's kind of like having to pay for a background check to add my fiancee to my lease (she's only just entered the country for the first time and those of us involved in the visa process know that means she has a clean record... and me... the guy who's been living there all this time... their excuse is that they do it so they can catch people who become sex offenders after they move in... but wait... I renewed my lease twice without having to pay for another background/credit check... the lady got all b*tchy about my not liking being charged money for something I considered a waste of money... grrrr...).

We fell to page 2, we are NEVER on page two, so I rescuing us. So I have been MIA the last month and 1/2, it was too frustrating to get on while my petition sat in a black hole between CSC and NVC. Finally my petition has made it to NVC and we are back slowly moving through the process. Kenyan Embassy moves pretty fast, so as long as we don't hit anymore snags I am hoping my love will be here April 1st.

Called the embassy and they moved the case from Administrative Processing to Administrative Review, still awaiting that letter. I wont be able to call since I will be traveling all nextweek. I pray by the time I get back there will be some update.

NBI??? What is this? How many damn BI's do we need? Crazy!

For the record... NBI is the philippines version of the FBI, so it's not really ours in that regard...

Everyone stay positive, it's hard, this whole process is extremely depressing, but the nice thing about the k-1 process is it's honestly all but gauranteed to be approved in the end, with the exception of people with criminal histories/admitted drug use or one of the more serious communicable diseases that can't be cured... with a k-1 it's a matter of time, do your best to stay happy and take care of yourself, exercise, it'll help your mood, whatever you can do. I hope everyone can get caught up.

My wife has been in the country for 9 days now (well, working on #9 right now) and yesterday was the first day where the weather was tolerable finally... we hit 71F! We also managed to ride one of those pesky buses, and even know where most of the bus stops are supposed to be now (handy considering they are definitely not marked yet, apparently they changed this route 2 times in the last 3 months). We ended up walking home since the bus schedules stop pretty much at 6pm... also found a nice little vietnamese place (she claimed not to be hungry but I wanted to go in and smell the restaurant and look at a menu... we started looking through the menu and she changed her mind pretty quick... I think we found a new favorite place to eat...). All I know is right now I'm wishing it was a weekend... yeah... I'm backing to loving the weekends again, how great is that!

ETA: Definitely anyone who is waiting at USCIS (and therefore hating weekends when they aren't working) should be trying to contact them as much as possible, getting ahold of senators/congress people to check on the status of your case etc... it seemed to help several people even before the 6 month period was up (suddenly NOA2's right after) so no doubt it'll help many now too when it's officially OK (not sure if VSC is out of processing dates yet, hopefully it's not still pointing at march).

I'd love to hear what she thinks of our country? they always ask that over there. I eat those stories up (I dunno, maybe I'm weird)...tell us...her first reaction, first comments about the US....all the good stuff (if she's not too shy to speak her mind)...

Sounds so cool! I LOVE nam food, too! I've GOT to make sure my teerak can cook! LOL! I'm feeling better cause I'll at least see her for 4 weeks. I wrote my 2 senators again (emailed this time, let's see if it works).

I'm calling USCIS in the am and looks like my income has been and will be jsut fine (I just gotta know what line I get that number from...maybe my tax dude will know, he's coming on the 3rd..I wish I cold claim her as a dependent though since I am supporting her but oh well, I have TOO MANY deductions this round!

Anyone else have some good POE and after stories??

anything to keep my mind off of the no noa2

Hey guys a little joke for you :)

Home Alone

A man knocks on a door, and a 12-year-old boy answers it. The boy has in one hand, a neat whiskey,

a porn magazine under his arm, and a cigarette in his mouth.

The man: "Excuse me, are your parents home?"

The boy: "Does it look like my parents are home?!"

I've worked for banks and mtg companies...was thinking of the same thing...never reviewed a credit report with that on it out of thousands. I suspect it's default or judgement....

Thanks for sharing your situation Freddy!, this is making me think that my Gary received an e-mail from his bank saying that he owes them money because they are charging him for not having a minimum amount in his checking account, that's BS because when he opened the account the said they would waive him that minimum, now they changed the personnel and he is stuck with these other people who are telling him different!!. I totally beleive him cause I had the same problem here and it is the same bank CITIBANK!. They are rip offs, they came to my company one day offering to open a checking account with no minimum deposited in the account and then after 6 months they charged me like 30 bucks saying that minimum was over that the offer was only for 6 months!!. I told them that was not what the officer offered me, it really pissed me off!. At the end I just closed the account but the idiots never gave me my money back!.

I am hoping my love will be here April 1st.

April fools?

I'd love to hear what she thinks of our country?

Her experience (from my point of view)... So far she likes it, she misses her family, but america is beautiful (she's only seen a small chunk and we've aimed at the good stuff though nothing is green yet)... and america is COLD... but that was to be expected since the philippines is pretty much a consistant temperature 85-90f and missouri... about 32f for a while... (I assume china/thailand have more seasons than wet and dry but I don't know for sure... china definitely does at least in the northern sections I'm sure). It didn't take long for her to get sick of american food (especially when in a section of the country that doesn't tend to have much rice on the menu) which was all that was available during our trip to get married, no home cookin... I love trying different stuff but by the end of two weeks in the philippines I'm looking for something more familiar... or at least... something I don't have to pick bones out of. Pre-packaged tilapia fillets *with no bones!!!* are probably high on her list of things to like about america. Transportation is of course very different here than the philippines, there, probably 50% of the vehicles on the major roads are some form of public transit, with a big chunk of what's not being commercial vehicles... when you are off the major roads that changes to probably 85% or more... and generally the fare is affordable... in america... especially smaller cities... everyone drives. The philippines is a very social country, there are people all over, it's almost the exact opposite where I live, in some ways that's good, because if a bunch of strange people she didn't know were constantly hanging around the apartment it'd probably freak her out while I'm not there... but at the same time she's mostly home alone while I'm not there, it's not an issue yet but sooner or letter that's going to make her antsy, hopefully EAD will be approved by then and she'll be able to work since that's about the best cure for that itch I can imagine.

The vietnamese restaurant didn't strike me as being particularly authentic, despite the fact that the employees all seemed to be vietnamese, my only other experience with vietnamese cooking though is home cooking from a few friends and generally anything they cooked would probably have gotten a restaurant run out of town here... but maybe it was more what we ordered...
